What did you dream of being when you were growing up?
The first dream I remember was becoming a veterinarian because I loved animals! But that dream quickly changed when i realized that the job included putting animals down. I also dreamed of becoming a lawyer after watching Judging Amy! And for a long time I wanted to become a teacher, and I guess in some ways that dream still gets to live on in my Learning & Development capacity!
What is one of your greatest achievements?
Both personally and professionally, I would say it is linked to curiosity. I sued to be a very home-bound, 'I will never leave,' careful person. And one day, I forced myself to be curious of the world and I broke out of my comfort zone and travelled to El Salvador and Brazil for 6 months. It kick-started a sense of curiosity that has brought me here, to ISS US - and I consider that an incredible achievement; to be able to be curious about other people, other cultures, and other ways of thinking and doing.
What is the most important thing we should know about you as a leader?
That I am very humbled by the incredible people I get to work with and that I genuinely care! Sometimes, I can't believe my own luck - getting to work with people who are passionate, motivated, talented, and fun is my greatest joy. I truly care about how they feel, what's going on in their lives, how I can support, and how I can help them achieve whatever they desire - and I hope they feel that!
