What did you dream of being when you were growing up?
When I was very young, I wanted to become a police officer - probably because my father was a police officer himself. Later on, I wanted to become a lawyer, but ended up in finance because it was cool. A decision I am so grateful for today as it has opened up so many doors, amongst others to the US.
What is one of your greatest achievements?
Being a mother to my two daughters - they will always be my greatest joy.
What do you feel is the biggest strength of our company right now?
Our people, both amongst our senior leaders and our Placemakers in the business!
What is the most important thing we should know about you as a leader?
I truly believe in the power of trust. I trust this organization, and I place trust in others. I want to always create an environment where it is okay to make mistakes, where we can openly and honestly say 'I need help' or 'I don't know' - and then come together to help, collaborate and support.
What did you dream of being when you were growing up?
I dreamt of being a news host on television. I would practice into a fake microphone and always interview my friends during play dates like I saw on TV.
What is one of your greatest achievements?
Privately - my family! My two daughters and Peter. What we have been through as a family the last 18 months - moving across the world with two kids without any English skills, straight into lockdown and COVID. We have never regretted and we made it work because we really wanted to. Looking back I think, how did we do that so well? But the truth is we just stayed positive.
Professionally my greatest achievements is link to transitions from one job to another. I do that well. I'm not afraid to test new roles, responsibilities and tasks. It does not worry me that I have not done it before - if it sounds fun and the leader is right I go all in to achieve great results. I rarely panic in front of colleagues or team mates. That said I do have sleepless nights over work and I always share it with my leader if anything worries me. So, transparency is key to me to achieve things.
What do you feel is the biggest strength of our company right now?
How we deal with ambiguity and change. We do that well as a company. And the collaboration across countries, in country, across functions has never been stronger in my view.
What is the most important thing we should know about you as a leader?
That I will move mountains for you! I love being a leader and I will go far for my team and for development of colleagues in general. I am transparent and honest - I don't own a poker face so you know what I am thinking before I open my mouth.
What did you dream of being when you were growing up?
When I was growing up I dreamed of becoming a professional football player.
What is one of your greatest achievements?
One of my greatest career achievements occurred when I assumed the position of interim President of a technology business shortly after being hired as its CFO. I was able to lea the company on a turnaround journey from loss making to double-digit profit margins through restructuring headcount, redesigning processes and systems, and creating a framework for excellence in operations across all functions.
What do you feel is the biggest strength of our company right now?
I believe one of the biggest strengths of ISS is that it has a strong worldwide footprint and reputation for quality coupled with a unique vision around standardization or process and adoption of new technology, which has great potential for long-term revenue growth and increasing profit margins.
What is the most important thing we should know about you as a leader?
An important insight of me as a leader is that I've always worked best within a team that is transparent and authentic and that's how I manage and interact.
What did you dream of being when you were growing up?
An architect.
What is one of your greatest achievements?
Running marathons.
What do you feel is the biggest strength of our company right now?
Can do attitude.
What is the most important thing we should know about you as a leader?
That I lead with a purpose beyond serving our customers, I want to help provide an environment of growth for all of us.
What did you dream of being when you were growing up?
I actually had two parallel dreams. First was to be a professional baseball player and second was to fly aircraft in the USAF! I ultimately ended up going the USAF route, but the slim chance I had of flying went out the window with color vision deficiency.
What is one of your greatest achievements?
While there are several professional achievements I could list here, each contract won, each promotion received or given, each award won in the USAF, etc., the greatest achievement that really matters the most at the end of the day is my family. I am very proud of all of my family, my four boys, my wife, even my dogs! Being able to support them through all of the great highs and lows, see all of their amazing achievements, and of course being able to provide for them is by far the greatest thing I have ever achieved, and do not see that ever changing.
What do you feel is the biggest strength of our company right now?
We are a flat organization, which none of our main competition can say. This allows us to have access top to bottom both internally, and also for our customers. I love that we have worked very hard to create a culture of trust and collaboration and truly believe we are seeing the beginnings of that setting us apart in the competitive landscape. We are different in so many ways and that is a good thing!
What is the most important thing we should know about you as a leader?
I am incredibly competitive, hate losing and refuse to accept that anything is impossible. I suspect that at times this comes out as me always being positive, but the root of that is that there is always a way and if the first approach doesn't;t work we will find another way! I also love to be part of the team and be challenged and have the ability to openly challenge others on the team. Accepting the first answer "because that is the way we have always done it" is like nails on a chalkboard for me!
What did you dream of being when you were growing up?
A rock star.
What is one of your greatest achievements?
A fantastic family.

A can-do attitude and effort.

What is one of your greatest achievements?
One of my greatest achievements is the completion of multiple college degrees while working full-time. This taught me to prioritize my time, build productive habits, and stay focused on my goals.
What do you feel is the biggest strength of our company right now?
I feel that our biggest strength as an organization is our ability to embrace change. Being able to see what is around the corner requires us to be proactive about driving change... even when things may be "going well."

Our unique model... the right mix of self-performance with key strategy is unique and our culture of caring, training and development.

What did you dream of being when you were growing up?
The first dream I remember was becoming a veterinarian because I loved animals! But that dream quickly changed when i realized that the job included putting animals down. I also dreamed of becoming a lawyer after watching Judging Amy! And for a long time I wanted to become a teacher, and I guess in some ways that dream still gets to live on in my Learning & Development capacity!
What is one of your greatest achievements?
Both personally and professionally, I would say it is linked to curiosity. I used to be a very home-bound, 'I will never leave,' careful person. And one day, I forced myself to be curious of the world and I broke out of my comfort zone and travelled to El Salvador and Brazil for 6 months. It kick-started a sense of curiosity that has brought me here, to ISS US - and I consider that an incredible achievement; to be able to be curious about other people, other cultures, and other ways of thinking and doing.
What is the most important thing we should know about you as a leader?
That I am very humbled by the incredible people I get to work with and that I genuinely care! Sometimes, I can't believe my own luck - getting to work with people who are passionate, motivated, talented, and fun is my greatest joy. I truly care about how they feel, what's going on in their lives, how I can support, and how I can help them achieve whatever they desire - and I hope they feel that!

Along with my wife, raising 3 wonderfully grounded, capable, and caring children.

I always try to practice what I preach and be an inclusive empathetic leader.
As we prepare for the Leadership League in June, we are excited to invite you to the ISS Growth Academy! You will have the opportunity to participate in commercial skills training, get to know the leaders who support us in our commercial efforts, and grow together as a company by aligning the methods we use and the stories we tell.
Please fill out this brief form to register.
We have altered the format and content of the Americas Leadership Conference around the theme of working as a team to meet and exceed our goals. We encourage you to Imagine That, meaning we will continue to pursue ambitious objectives for our countries and our region. Our conference in this country will still be based on the Global Leadership Conference held by Group leadership.
Our conference team is creating an exciting and engaging agenda for the Leadership League! We expect to share it with you by June 9, 2021.
Absolutely! The Leadership League is designed for you to actively participate. You should expect to engage in breakout rooms for activities and workshops, ask questions (our presenters may invite you to join them on the virtual “stage”), and even enjoy a virtual cup of coffee.
The speakers will be members of the Americas Senior Leadership Team (ASLT), members of Executive Group Management (EGM), and subject matter experts from our organization.
There will be different workshops each day of the Leadership League. Be prepared to participate!
You will receive a box of treats before the Leadership League – some for fun, and some for you to use during the three days. Look for a shipment to the address you provided when registering.
Our speakers will be coming to you live, so expect to engage and interact just as you would in person.
We will make some of the key messages available after the event, and there will also be calls to action so we can bring the content to life together.
We are holding this event using online audio and video through an interactive event platform called Welcome. We would love to gather in person, but due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and requirements, you will attend the Leadership League this year using your laptop and other devices.
Yes, you can! The Welcome platform fosters collaboration, and we encourage you to jump in and help shape the conference content. During different conference sessions, you will have the opportunity to choose to explore the topics that interest you.
We will be using a platform called Welcome. You will receive more details about how to use this platform before the event. We will not be using Microsoft Teams.
You do not need to download anything - the platform is web-based and can be accessed using any browser.
Yes, you can use the chat function on the Welcome platform during the duration of the event. We will also have dedicated help desk hours prior to the event on Monday, June 28, (hours TBD), and Tuesday, June 29, at 8:30am/11:30am (30 minutes prior to the start of the event).
You will need a headset (if you are siting with other people), a Wi-Fi connection, and a camera for video.
The Leadership League will run the course of three days (June 29th - July 1st) and will take approximately 4-4.5 hours each day including breaks. To accommodate for all our time zones, the event will kick off each day at 9:00 AM PST.
Yes. If you were invited to the Leadership League, it should take priority over all other activities.
If you have a conflict during the three-day event, please request approval from a member of the ASLT before stepping away from the conference.
Yes; the agenda will include short and long breaks to attend to work tasks (such as email, Teams messages, and texts) and reflect on the experience.
Because of the participatory nature of the Leadership League, we ask that you minimize any distractions. Please keep cell phones quiet and out of sight, and close applications that may draw your attention away from the conference.
If you live near colleagues, you are welcome to participate together, as long as safety is your top priority. To gather with colleagues, you must receive a negative COVID test within 48 hours of the start of the event. A negative test result is not required if you and all other team members are fully vaccinated (completed vaccination at least two weeks ago). Even if you are with colleagues in person, individual participation is required. You will need a personal computer, camera, and a headset to participate in workshops.
The dress code is business casual.
You have already engaged in prework through the Growth Academy. There will also be post-conference activities through the end of 2021 (and possibly beyond).
Your invitation to the Leadership League is for you only; please do not extend the invitation to other team members.
Your role is to participate, challenge, question, learn, and be inspired! Your role after the conference is to be a role model, a translator for other colleagues, a frontrunner of our strategy, and an incubator for the OneISS strategy.
This is a fully virtual event; no travel will be necessary.
We will not have food or beverages available as part of the conference programming. We encourage you to have light meals and snacks on hand - and of course, plenty of water!
